Streetwear for minority minds

Things Talk is a concept designed to help educate and spread awareness about Mental Health in ethnic circles.

We are more than clothing, we are here to challenge the cultural misperceptions of Mental Health.

We are not specific to any gender, age, sexuality or religion.

Growing up I didn’t know who to turn to. I thought that sharing my darkest thoughts was a shameful thing to do.

In some ethnic cultures around the world, mental health is considered a taboo subject. Cultural elders tend to label mental illness as ‘insanity’. It is our belief that these factors have not allowed for positive mental conversation in ethnic circles.

Young people struggle to find their own identity from the rest of their cultural group. Without a circle of trust or a lack of emotional support, youths tend to seek an escape through rebellious acts, violence or the easy way out.

It is our job to breakdown these cultural hindrances that have formed a divide between friends and family members. Our job is to initiate conversations that will help bring families, mates and partners closer.
